Boshra Writes

You can learn a lot about a person by their career choices and I think I’ve won the lottery associating with people who write for a living. What is becoming my contribution to a meaningful life, is interviewing people like DelSheree Gladden who is a dynamic and interesting person, as well as a USA Today Best-Selling Author. Please comment below if you have any further questions of DelSheree and her books!

Q: Do you have a musical artist/genre that you like?

I love folk rock and quirky styles of music. Some of my favorite artists to listen to are Mumford and Sons, Flora Cash, The Lumineers, The Hand and The Heart, and Dean Lewis. I enjoy the stories in music like this and the variety of sounds used to create a mini world within the song.

Q: Now that there may be an end in sight to the pandemic, what are you looking forward to doing that you haven’t been able to do when it’s finally over?

Definitely traveling. I’m finally done with graduate school and have a bit more free time, and I’m eager to fill that time with trips to see more of the world. It may just be short weekend trips for now while I’m still getting things settled in my life, but I look forward to diving into some new adventures.

Q: Best date you’ve ever had?

A walk along the river, enjoying the beautiful scenery and getting to know a very sweet and wonderful man. It was casual, yet intimate, and I very much enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about his life and interests.

Q: What were you doing the last time you really had a good laugh?

Having an impromptu sleepover with a friend of mine after a valve burst in my backyard recently and the water had to be shut off to my house for two days while it was repaired. We stayed up way too late talking about everything and making each other laugh over all the crazy things going on in our lives.

Q: Why is storytelling so important for all of us?

Storytelling is a way of connecting with people and sharing intimate parts of ourselves with others. I think we all have an innate need to feel heard and understood. It’s difficult for most of us to simply state what we need or think or feel. Storytelling allows us to express those innermost thoughts in a way that is not only less intimidating to share publicly, but in a way that is also easier to relate to on a broad level.
